Prince William has opened up about what gives him true peace of mind when night falls.

As part of London Climate Action Week, the Prince joined Emma Watson, Benedict Cumberbatch and other guests at a business forum for The Royal Foundation’s United for Wildlife, held during London Climate Action Week. Watson has long supported William’s environmental work, having presented the “Fix Our Climate” award at the first Earthshot Prize event in London in 2021.

Launched in 2020, the Earthshot Prize awards £1 million each year to five winners with bold ideas to repair the planet. Picture a world with cleaner air, revived oceans, and no waste left behind. Prince William calls it his “moonshot for Earth.” The annual awards and global summit keep climate solutions in the spotlight, and the winners’ tech is already scaling.

The Prince of Wales said at the forum that Earthshot fills him with optimism. Helping to uncover answers for the planet, he told The Telegraph, “helps me sleep at night.” He also admitted that there would be “some sweaty nights” as he figures out his next steps once the Earthshot decade ends in 2030.

“We have some debating to do. It is going to keep us on our toes,” the royal heir said.

Prince William shared with U.S. vice president Al Gore that the Earthshot Prize helps calm his concerns about the environment. Seeing real results from the projects convinces him that progress is real. Additionally, the Wales family’s move to Adelaide Cottage in Windsor was partly about a simpler, greener life. Reports say that the home uses sustainable materials and the family gardens there.
