Prince Harry Using Security Demand To ‘Trap’ King Charles on UK Trip — Source

Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, are allegedly using their kids to demand security assurances from King Charles on their upcoming UK trip, a new report claims. A British journalist believes that there is “a lot of manipulation going on” in the royal circle.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are planning a highly anticipated trip to the UK this July. The trip is to celebrate the one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games. Reportedly, the couple will be bringing their children, Archie (7) and Lilibet (5), along with them.

Reports suggest the family was offered accommodation on a royal estate during their stay. However, it also notes that Prince Harry’s latest request for publicly funded police protection was denied. As a result, the couple is allegedly wondering whether they should bring their children on the trip at all.

In the latest episode of The Daily Mail’s Palace Confidential podcast, Diary Editor Richard Eden weighed in on the situation. He said that, to him, the situation seemed like something of a “trap.” He explained that Prince Harry and Markle were reportedly saying they would stay at a royal residence. However, only under the condition that they were guaranteed security every time they left with their children.

Eden then pointed out that, during Harry’s visit the previous September, he had been given police protection while carrying out an engagement. However, the editor believed it was connected with the WellChild Awards. However, for the current situation, the couple has several different activities planned. But until they are given protection, they might not stay with the family.

Eden went on to say that this feels like a trap. This is mainly because if the king or the government agreed to provide guaranteed security, Harry and Meghan could later claim that this was what they could demand on every visit. He further suggested that if such protection were a guarantee in Britain, they might also argue that they should receive the same level of security in America. “So there’s a lot of manipulation going on, and it’s all quite unedifying,” Eden concluded.
