Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s highly anticipated wedding fueled rumors that Prince William and Kate Middleton would be among the guests. However, new reports indicate the royal couple will not be at the wedding, ending weeks of speculation.
The Prince and Princess of Wales will not attend Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s highly anticipated wedding
Rumors were sparked following Prince William’s appearance on Heart Breakfast on May 22, when Amanda Holden asked if he had been invited. He responded, as per E! News, “No comment. I’m hoping, and I’m sure there might be an invitation around, but we’ll see.” He also shared that his children, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, are big fans of Swift, saying that Charlotte, in particular, is “obsessed.”
The Prince and Princess of Wales are not expected to attend, but William’s friendship with the global pop star goes back over a decade. According to People, William and Swift first crossed paths in 2013 at the Centrepoint Winter Whites Gala at Kensington Palace, joining Jon Bon Jovi onstage for a spontaneous rendition of Livin’ on a Prayer.
He also spent his 42nd birthday at Swift’s Eras Tour concert at Wembley Stadium in June 2024, bringing Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis along, and was seen dancing to Shake It Off. Following the concert, Swift posted a backstage selfie on Instagram featuring William, George, and Charlotte, and Kelce was also pictured with the royal family.
According to Page Six, Zoë Kravitz, Ed Sheeran, Haim, Suki Waterhouse, Gigi Hadid, and Selena Gomez are among those invited to the wedding, allegedly taking place on July 3 at Madison Square Garden. The Sun reports that Swift’s close friend Gigi Hadid is likely to be one of her bridesmaids, alongside Selena Gomez and the Haim sisters. However, the singer and the NFL player have not publicly confirmed any wedding date, venue, or ceremony details.
