Madonna and Leon recently released their song on Confessions II, which is called “The Test.” In the first verse, Madonna talks about how the spotlight affected her daughter. She says, “Little star, I tried to put you on a pedestal. You didn’t ask for all the flashing lights. I didn’t think of how it could disturb or how it could hurt. I wish I knew the pain I’ve caused. My butterfly was always being watched.”

Lola, on the other hand, expressed her love for her mother. She says, a hand tenderly reaching to me. You are my reason to be, or what I want, or look like. What I wear, all the clothes on my back and what I attract.”

Together, they sing, “I know they tried to put you to the test. I’m not so different; time is knocking on my doorstep. You show me your razor-sharp laser vision. Real brave will make you feel kind of different.”

Madonna released the song on her YouTube channel, where it is also already gaining traction. It’s exclusively licensed to Warner Records. In a recent interview with Interview Magazine, Madonna revealed that Lola, her daughter with Carlos Leon, approached her for the song, which turned out to be a meaningful experience.
