Frankie Grande, brother of Ariana Grande, suffered a random concussion after getting hit by a prop onstage.
He was playing Captain Victor Garber in the Broadway musical “Titanique” when he hit himself with a pink wheel onstage.
Frankie Grande suffered a concussion after a prop struck his face during a Titanique performance, he completed the show before seeking medical care
Grande wrote on Instagram, “In Thursday’s showstopper moment, I launched the wheel into the air… and my nose caught it before my hands did! Turns out, being gay doesn’t give me catching superpowers. So, I gave myself a little “ouchie” (okay, maybe a concussion). Out of the show ’til tomorrow. Catch you soon, my loves!”
The actor has also recently had spinal cord surgery. He shared with E! News, “Building my body back up to the ability to do this show while also rehearsing this show—it was exhausting,” adding, “When you watch the show, you’re going to have no idea that I had spinal surgery.” He worked his way back to the stage after the surgery but had to rest for three days because of the concussion.
In December, the actor revealed in an Instagram post that he underwent surgery to relieve pressure on the nerves in his neck, which had been causing pain and neurological symptoms. He shared that the procedure was successful and praised his medical team, writing, “The procedure went exactly as expected… I’m safe, I’m relieved, and I’m already feeling hopeful.” He added that the surgery was a necessary step toward returning to the stage and living without constant pain.
The actor previously appeared on Big Brother and starred in Titanique during its Off-Broadway run from 2022 to 2025 before returning for the production’s Broadway debut.
Despite the unexpected injury, Grande has remained optimistic and focused on his recovery. After recently overcoming spinal surgery and now dealing with a concussion, the actor is expected to return to Titanique in no time.
