Party Rock Anthem Singer Lauren Bennett’s Death Takes Unexpected Turn

Lauren Bennett’s sudden death has taken a new turn as officials in England continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the singer’s passing. The former LMFAO collaborator died at just 36 years old, but the cause of her death has not yet been made public.

The British singer died on May 29 in Meopham, Kent. Authorities later opened a formal investigation into her death on June 12, with the Kent and Medway Coroner Service expected to continue its inquiry until an inquest scheduled for October.

Officials continued investigating Lauren Bennett’s sudden death

According to TMZ, the Kent and Medway Coroner Service was leading the investigation, which could take several months before any conclusions are reached. The outlet also reported that a private memorial service was held in London about a week and a half ago, where Bennett’s family, friends, and former bandmates from GRL and Paradiso Girls gathered to celebrate her life.

The news of Bennett’s passing was first shared publicly by GRL.

“It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Lauren,” the group wrote in a statement shared on Instagram, according to The Guardian. “Our hearts are broken, and we cannot begin to express how much she meant to us.”

The group also paid tribute to the lasting impact she had on those around her.

“We will forever cherish the love, laughter, and countless memories she gave us,” the statement continued. “Her beautiful spirit touched so many lives, and she will be deeply missed and forever loved,” according to The Guardian.

Bennett enjoyed a career that stretched across several pop acts before finding worldwide success. She first joined Paradiso Girls before launching a solo career and later worked with artists including CeeLo Green and will.i.am. In 2011, she provided vocals on LMFAO’s global smash Party Rock Anthem, which BBC News noted became Billboard’s fifth most successful song of all time after spending six weeks atop the Hot 100.

She later joined GRL, where the group scored hits including “Ugly Heart” and appeared alongside Pitbull on “Wild Wild Love.”

According to The Guardian, Bennett also became an advocate for mental health after bandmate Simone Battle died in 2014. While promoting the tribute single Lighthouse, she said, “Hopefully, for us, we would love to help at least one person.”

Authorities have not released a cause of death, and the investigation remained ongoing at the time of publication.
