Greg James opened up about attending Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding during his BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show. The broadcaster had previously joked about wanting an invitation when Swift appeared on his show in 2025. As it turned out, she followed through.
According to People, James initially thought the digital invitation might be a scam. The outlet noted that the invite arrived on his phone months before the wedding, leaving him concerned that he and his wife, Bella Mackie, might fly to New York for nothing. However, the invitation turned out to be genuine.
Swift and Kelce’s wedding took place at Madison Square Garden on July 3. The celebration featured more than 1,000 guests, making it one of the largest celebrity weddings of the year.
Although James did not reveal every private detail, he shared several highlights from the celebration. He described the evening as incredibly fun, with food throughout the venue, multiple cakes, flowing drinks, and guests dancing on stage with the DJ.
James also shared a memorable moment involving Travis Kelce. As People noted, the broadcaster said Kelce greeted him with a huge bear hug, comparing the embrace to being hugged by a mountain.
He also joked about leaving the celebration with what he called the “world’s greatest hangover,” suggesting the festivities continued well into the night. At the same time, James appeared mindful of the couple’s privacy, choosing to focus on the atmosphere of the celebration rather than personal family moments.
For now, Greg James’ recollection has offered fans another glimpse inside Swift and Kelce‘s Madison Square Garden wedding celebration.
