Paris Jackson’s legal fight over her late father’s estate has reportedly created fresh tension within the Jackson family. New claims suggested the dispute has strained her once-close relationship with brothers Prince and Bigi as disagreements over Michael Jackson’s legacy continued to grow.
The reported family divide followed Paris’ recent legal victory involving payments made by Michael Jackson’s estate. While all three siblings were once united in protecting their father’s legacy, insiders now claimed their conversations had become increasingly rare and formal.
Michael Jackson’s estate has reportedly become the latest source of conflict for Paris and her brothers
According to RadarOnline, Paris’ recent court win allowed her to recover $625,000 in bonus payments made to lawyers representing Michael Jackson’s $789 million estate. The outlet reported that the victory intensified an ongoing disagreement between the siblings over how the estate should be managed.
A family insider told RadarOnline that Prince and Bigi believed the legal battle had evolved beyond preserving their father’s legacy.
“They believe this stopped being about protecting Michael’s legacy a long time ago,” the source said. “They see it as a fight for control, and they’re exhausted by it.”
The insider also claimed communication between the siblings had become increasingly distant.
“They’re not sitting down and talking things through anymore,” the source told RadarOnline. “Everything goes through lawyers, advisors and representatives. It’s completely transactional — and incredibly sad.”
RadarOnline reported that tensions had already been building before the release of “Michael,” the blockbuster biopic co-produced by Prince Jackson and estate executors John Branca and the late John McClain. The film reportedly surpassed “Bohemian Rhapsody” to become the highest-grossing music biopic, earning more than $911 million worldwide.
Before the movie’s release, Paris publicly criticized an early version of the screenplay. According to RadarOnline, she wrote on social media, “I read one of the first drafts of the script and gave my notes about what was dishonest/didn’t sit right with me, and when they didn’t address it, I moved on with my life.”
RadarOnline also reported that Paris has continued challenging the estate’s financial management, arguing her father’s legacy should not become a “slush fund.” Representatives for estate co-executor John Branca disputed any wrongdoing, maintaining the estate has generated more than $3 billion since Michael Jackson’s death in 2009.
Financial records cited by RadarOnline showed Paris received $3.2 million from the estate in 2022, while Prince received $3.1 million and Bigi received nearly $1 million.
