TMZ noted that the moment unfolded amid typical Los Angeles traffic. However, the outlet also pointed out that riding through the sunroof of a moving vehicle raises obvious safety concerns.
A source close to Spears told TMZ that the singer is “doing well” and suggested the incident would simply be considered “good clean fun” if it had happened in her home state of Louisiana.
Britney was not behind the wheel, as she is currently barred from driving after accepting a plea deal in May that reduced her DUI charge to a lesser “wet reckless” offense. The agreement placed her on 12 months of probation.
On a Reddit thread, users gathered under a photo from the incident. They shared both concern and criticism over Spears’ decision to ride that way. One wrote, “Reminds me so much of Judy Garland in her final years it’s very sad,” while another raised a controversial point, saying, “How long til she hops on Instagram to claim the paps made her look bigger than she is?” A third connected the incident to Spears’ personal life, saying, “In desperate need for attention.
