Laura Loomer Calls Mitch McConnell’s Staff ‘Liars’ After Health Update

MAGA activist Laura Loomer publicly questioned the authenticity of Sen. Mitch McConnell’s hospital photo update. The 33-year-old far-right political activist claimed the image was “fake” and “AI-altered.”

Laura Loomer accused Mitch McConnell’s staff of misleading the public

On July 12, McConnell shared a hospital photo along with an update on his health. The image showed him sitting up in bed holding a newspaper, while his wife, Elaine Chao, sat beside him.

The update read, “My doctors have confirmed that I didn’t break any bones or suffer a concussion. I didn’t have a heart attack or a stroke. I don’t have any tumors or hemorrhages. But I was briefly unconscious and was taken to the hospital. While receiving excellent care over the past several weeks, I’ve also had to deal with a mild case of pneumonia.I can assure you that I’ve been a good patient. At my age, I tend to do what my doctors tell me to do. I’ve submitted to every test they can think of to help figure out what caused this incident. And I’m continuing to do everything they ask to speed my recovery.”

Loomer, who previously claimed that McConnell was “brain dead,” was quick to call out the image. She wrote on X, “Why does the text on the newspaper McConnell’s staff claim he’s holding look AI-generated? The text is blurry, and the tag on his shirt is blurred. Also, if he’s in the hospital, why is there no IV connected to him to monitor his health? This is such bullshit. His staff are liars.”

McConnell was found “unconscious” at his Washington, D.C., home on June 14. When the 84-year-old Kentucky Republican was hospitalized, his spokesperson, David Popp, said the senator was taken to the hospital and is “receiving excellent care.” On June 22, Popp said that McConnell was “working closely with staff on Senate business and Kentucky matters as he continues his recovery,” Punchbowl News reported.

McConnell, whose current term is expected to conclude in January 2027, has faced several health concerns in recent years, as per ABC7News. These include a March 2023 fall resulting in a concussion and broken ribs. He also froze mid-sentence during a later news conference.
