Jennifer Garner never apologizes for working
If there is one thing Jennifer Garner never apologizes to her kids for, it is her work. The “Juno” actor shares three children with her ex-husband, Ben Affleck: Violet Anne, Seraphina Rose Elizabeth, and Samuel Garner.
During the interview, she opened up about balancing work with motherhood. One of the hosts said she admired how Garner never apologizes to her children for working. Instead, she thanks them for their patience and understanding.
Garner responded that she does that because “work is part of life,” adding that she gets a lot of “joy” from working. She said, “I really believe that any job I’ve had, I’ve really loved getting in there and doing the best — I mean, I like to work.”
Speaking about her children, Garner explained that she struggled with this when they were younger. However, now that they are older, they thank her for showing them the importance of work. She added that her children appreciate that she taught them work is something to be enjoyed and that it doesn’t have to feel “tedious” all the time.
Garner said she does admit that she has a “pretty great job” and emphasized that everyone should embrace their careers and not feel guilty about focusing on their work commitments.
It is not the first time the award-winning actor has emphasized the importance of work while balancing parenthood. In an earlier interview with InStyle, she said that working hard is a part of life and shared that she thanks her children for being so “sweet” and understanding about her keeping busy with work.
