Kelly Bensimon is recovering after a serious car crash in Sarasota, Florida. The former Real Housewives of New York star suffered injuries to her head and right arm after another vehicle struck her Uber. She later expressed gratitude that she survived the accident.

According to Page Six, the crash occurred on Monday on Tamiami Trail while Bensimon was riding in an Uber with celebrity chef Andrew Molen. Another vehicle struck their car head-on while making a left turn. Bensimon, Molen, and the other driver were taken to a local hospital for treatment. Doctors performed CT scans and X-rays while evaluating their injuries.
Bensimon later reflected on the frightening moments after the impact. She told Page Six, “I’m lucky to have walked away alive.” She said her right arm was severely injured and that her head slammed into the back of the seat. Bensimon also said she lost consciousness for a few seconds and believed she had broken her arm.
The RHONY alum said she remained in severe pain after leaving the hospital. She explained that during the crash, her head struck Molen’s chin, and makeup marks were still visible on the deployed airbag. On Instagram Stories, she thanked Molen and everyone who helped them. She wrote that the past 36 hours had been intense and expressed gratitude that they both survived.
Molen also spoke to Page Six about the crash. He said the impact threw him against the ceiling of the vehicle and left him with a neck injury. He added that he canceled five events following the crash. Bensimon and Molen had traveled to Sarasota for a real estate event promoting their upcoming series, The Chef and the Housewife.
