Meghan Markle Using ‘Manipulative’ Tactic To Keep King Charles on Her Side — Report

Meghan Markle is reportedly employing a “manipulative” approach to maintain King Charles’ support. Prince Harry’s wife allegedly used their kids to stay in his favor during the family’s recent UK visit. The Sussexes’ visits to Britain have been closely watched since the couple stepped back from senior royal duties in 2020.

Questions are being raised about Meghan Markle’s reasons for bringing her children to see King Charles.

The monarch and Queen Camilla hosted the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and their kids, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, at Highgrove House on Friday, July 10.

Per reporting in the Daily Express, TalkTV’s Mark Dolan described the Duchess stepping back onto royal grounds as “symbolic.” Sarah-Louise Robertson from Digital Spy shared that perspective.

She noted that this was something few would have expected a couple of years ago. At the time, Markle had made it clear she intended to remain in California. The “Suits” star had also said that she wouldn’t return to England unless it involved a royal role.

According to the experienced journalist, Markle’s desire to rebuild bridges with the Royal Family stems primarily from financial motives. She went on to say that money has always been the core issue for the couple, and that the lucrative income Markle had anticipated when planning Megxit never arrived.

“The coffers are drying up. Meghan is astute and wants to curry favor with the King because they want to call on his services. How do they do that? They have the gift of grandchildren. Those grandchildren have been dangled like a carrot over the King’s head as a way to keep him on side. It sounds manipulative,” Robertson noted.

Sarah-Louise Robertson claimed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle do want their children to connect with King Charles, but said the key driver is that he “happens to be Britain’s ruling monarch.” She further observed that the “As Ever” founder now sees restoring ties with the King as the “answer to all her problems.”
