Prince Harry’s Buckingham Palace Invite Drama Is Not What It Seems — Source

Prince Harry’s Buckingham Palace invite dispute may have a different explanation. The Palace has said the offer expired because of logistical issues and a missed deadline. However, a new report claims that wasn’t the real reason. Insiders allege King Charles was more concerned about the reaction from Palace staff than the practicalities of hosting his younger son.

King Charles feared staff backlash over Prince Harry’s Buckingham Palace invite, per source

Prince Harry was invited to stay at Buckingham Palace during his planned visit to the United Kingdom. However, the offer was later withdrawn after the Palace claimed he had missed the deadline to accept it. Officials reportedly said there was no longer enough time to arrange staffing, security, and other preparations. Insiders, however, are telling a different story.

“The King’s biggest concern wasn’t logistics—it was his staff,” one royal source told Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice. According to the insider, many Palace employees allegedly remain deeply upset by Harry’s past remarks about the royal family. As a result, the king reportedly did not want to place them in an uncomfortable position.

The source went on to claim that staff loyalty weighed heavily on Charles’ mind. “Many employees feel deeply hurt by what Harry has said about the Royal Family,” the insider said. They claimed that the king was reluctant to ask staff to welcome someone they believed had “betrayed” the institution.

Meanwhile, another source alleged the decision was also influenced by wider concerns inside the royal household. “The King wasn’t just thinking about Harry,” the insider said. “He was thinking about the people who keep the monarchy running every day.”

Per the Substack post, the Palace has reportedly faced challenges recruiting and retaining experienced employees. Because of that, staff morale had allegedly become increasingly important. The insider further claimed Charles wanted to avoid any situation that could lead to resentment among employees or even encourage some to leave.

Harry’s camp, meanwhile, has strongly disputed the Palace’s version of events. A spokesperson said the duke delayed accepting the accommodation offer only because he was arranging alternative security after the RAVEC decision regarding police protection for his family.

Once those plans were finalized, the representative claimed Harry formally accepted the invitation. By then, however, the offer had reportedly been withdrawn.
