Benny Blanco is going to great lengths for the woman he loves. The music producer is crossing an entire ocean to be by her side. Rather than take a quick flight, the music producer chose a much slower journey across the Atlantic because of his long-standing fear of flying.

Blanco is traveling to the United Kingdom by ship to join his wife, Selena Gomez, ahead of her birthday. The singer turns 34 on July 22, and she is currently in London filming the sixth season of ‘Only Murders in the Building‘. For this journey, her husband decided the open sea was the way to go.
The producer shared with fans in a playful TikTok posted on July 16. “POV: ur traveling across the Atlantic in the Titanic to see ur wife,” he wrote over a clip of his sea journey, adding that he was doing it “bc ur scared of flying.” In the caption, he summed up the grand gesture simply: “the things we do for love.”
This is not the first time Blanco has skipped skies for the water. He has spoken openly about his fear of flying before, explaining that a trip to Europe means first driving to New York and then spending roughly eight days abroad on a boat.
He once made a similar crossing with Ed Sheeran, during which the pair worked on the “Divide” album. Notably, the producer is working to overcome his aerophobia this year, and even took his first flight in more than eight years.
The couple married in 2025 and have been living apart while Gomez films overseas, though they aim to reunite roughly every few weeks. The two recently shared a date night at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s wedding earlier this month.
Gomez has even joked that her husband’s fear runs so deep that she would be too worried if she flew beside him. Now, with his long journey underway, Blanco is proving that a little seasickness is a small price to pay to spend Selena’s birthday together.
