Kai Cenat is facing a fresh legal headache. The popular streamer has been named in a new lawsuit tied to an alleged altercation. According to the filing, a man says he was beaten by a member of Cenat’s security team without cause. The Kai Cenat lawsuit has quickly pulled the internet star into a courtroom fight.
Lawsuit claims a member of Kai Cenat’s security team assaulted a man
According to documents reviewed by TMZ, Kai Cenat is being sued by a plaintiff identified as Dustin Batista, who is also taking an individual named Lamont Gilbert to court. Batista says the trouble began when he encountered the pair during New York’s Dominican Day Parade last year.
It should have been a routine run-in, but it turned violent. In the suit, Batista alleges that Gilbert, working as Kai Cenat security, “struck, punched, and assaulted” him at the event.
He maintains he gave the guard no cause whatsoever, stating that he “did not threaten, attack, provoke, consent to contact with, or otherwise justify the attack.” By his account, the alleged beating came without warning.
Batista’s complaint splits the blame between the two men. He is pursuing Gilbert directly over the alleged assault and battery. He is also targeting Cenat on grounds of vicarious liability and negligent hiring, essentially contending that the streamer bears responsibility for a person working on his behalf.
So far, Cenat has stayed quiet on the accusations. TMZ reported that it reached out to Cenat for comment but had not received a response before publication. The case adds legal weight to a busy stretch for the streamer, though he has faced no criminal charges in connection with the incident.
For now, the matter sits in the hands of the court, with Batista seeking to hold both the guard and the streamer accountable.
