Hamilton posted photos from a family lake trip on Instagram on July 16. “Hold your people close,” he wrote alongside the carousel, which featured Kardashian and her children.
The message arrived hours after Kris Jenner announced that her mother, Mary Jo “MJ” Shannon, had died at age 91. Jenner described MJ as “the heart of our family” and credited her with teaching the family to love fiercely, show kindness, and value every moment together.
People reported that Hamilton’s carousel included hiking, swimming, jet skiing, and family time. One image showed him with Kardashian, her son Psalm, and her daughter Chicago. Other moments featured his niece and nephew.
The loved-up post gave fans another look at Hamilton’s place within Kardashian’s family. Their recent lakeside vacation had already shown the racer bonding with her children and spending time with Khloé Kardashian. Kardashian later shared a tribute to MJ. She called her grandmother her “best friend,” “gossip buddy” and “forever twin.” She also thanked MJ for teaching her about family, work ethic, strength and confidence.
The reality star said MJ gave her a first job at her San Diego store and remained her “safe place.” She ended the tribute by telling her grandmother, “You will always be a part of me.”
Kardashian also clarified the timing of a lake photo carousel after some users criticized her for posting. She explained that she had scheduled it before MJ’s death and had spent the previous week beside her mother and grandmother.
Hamilton did not name MJ in his caption. Still, the timing and family-centered message made the post poignant as Kardashian and her relatives began grieving.
