Jerry O’Connell is speaking out about his split from Giuliana Rancic 20 years after their breakup. The 52-year-old Stand by Me star has finally addressed Rancic’s claim in her memoir Going Off Script that he cheated on her with Geri Halliwell.

According to Page Six, Rancic claimed that after O’Connell stopped returning her calls, she went to his condominium to confront him. She alleged that he refused to let her in and ended their relationship over the intercom, telling her, “Nope. Sorry, homegirl. Things change, but you take care, OK.”
During his July 20 appearance on SiriusXM’s Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa, recorded in front of a live audience at SiriusXM’s NYC Fishbowl, O’Connell discussed the claims when Ripa asked if he had actually ended his relationship with the reporter over an intercom.
In response, O’Connell admitted he doesn’t recall his exact wording during their 2004 breakup after dating for a year. He added that although the quote didn’t sound like him, he couldn’t deny saying it, but noted that it “made for a good quote” in a memoir.
O’Connell explained that Rancic once arrived at his condominium unexpectedly. He recalled, as quoted by Just Jared, “Giuliana Rancic wanted entry into my condominium. Thank goodness, buzzer, gate, security. I paid a pretty hefty homeowners fee for these things. Cameras and everything. And I said, ‘I did not know you were coming. You can’t come here unannounced.’
Notice no one had a key, so the relationship was not like that. But that was why I didn’t like someone coming to my condominium…without an invite or even a text or even a phone call.”
Rancic also wrote that O’Connell showed little remorse when she confronted him about the alleged affair with Halliwell. She compared his reaction to that of a customer service representative informing someone their bags had been lost.
Rancic also alleged O’Connell later cheated on her with Rebecca Romijn, whom he has been married to for 19 years. The couple is parents to 17-year-old twin daughters, Dolly and Charlie.
