A palace insider told Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice that Queen Camilla might have supported the Sussexes’ reunion with King Charles, but her trust issues with her younger stepson continue to remain. They further revealed that all she aims for is peace for her husband because she loves him.
“She’s watched this family fracture in public, and if there’s a chance to heal it, she’ll stand behind her husband. But forgiveness doesn’t erase memory, and she hasn’t forgotten what Harry has said and done,” the source added. They revealed that she believes Harry might betray them again if things didn’t go his way. Insiders mentioned that at present, Camilla’s priority remains to protect the monarch from “another round of heartbreak” and prevent him from getting “blindsided” by his son.
The insider further elaborated, “Camilla understands how this story ends. One day William will be King. She wants his respect now because he’ll ultimately shape her place in the institution after Charles.” They also revealed that Camilla and the Prince of Wales‘ bond has improved over their common worry about Harry. The duo understands that a single reunion cannot undo past deeds. “Trust has to be rebuilt, and they don’t think Harry is there yet,” the individual added.
The source noted that although Camilla is open to reconciliation, she is unwilling to lower her guard. This news comes right after Harry, Meghan Markle, and their kids, Archie and Lilibet, had a private family gathering with Charles at Highgrove House in Gloucestershire, England.
