The “looksmaxxing” streamer Clavicular, born Braden Peters, breaks his silence on rumors of his drug overdose, following his collapse on a viral livestream. Clavicular claims he lost consciousness after drinking and disputes reports that he overdosed
Braden Peters—the online influencer known as Clavicular addressed the incident during an appearance on the Hang Out with Sean Hannity podcast on Tuesday, July 21. In the interview, he denied any hospital reports showing he had overdosed when he lost consciousness during a livestream back in April.
The 20-year-old explained the events of that day. He attributed his collapse to the combined effect of not eating that day and drinking too much alcohol. Peters also argued that people blew the incident out of proportion because of his age. He pointed out that passing out from drinking happens to plenty of youngsters.
“I mean, I just, literally, had not eaten that day, consumed too much alcohol, and just knocked out a little bit. ,” Clavicular explained on the podcast. “I mean, what? People are acting like they’ve never passed out from drinking a little too much at 20 years old. It happens literally all the time in college. It wasn’t a big thing,” he added.
In April, at the time of the original incident, the “looksmaxxing” streamer was livestreaming in Miami. During the livestream itself, he appeared to pass out before his team cut the stream and carried him out of the venue. Doctors treated him in the emergency room and released him the following day in stable condition.
Peters, who has built a large online following through the controversial “looksmaxxing” movement, faces regular backlash. Critics often condemn him for using a racist slur. He has also admitted to using illegal drugs, including meth, during his livestreams. The controversial personality has also been at the center of legal troubles over the past several months.
Despite this drug overdose controversy and past criticism, Clavicular has continued livestreaming regularly and remains one of the most-followed figures in his online niche.
