The Prime Video documentary follows Lily Allen’s career, family life and personal evolution
Prime Video announced that the documentary will feature interviews with people close to Allen. The streaming platform described it as a story of “resilience, reinvention, and an artist reclaiming her narrative on her own terms.”
Prime Video also described the film as “raw, real” and said it’ll reveal a “whole other side” of the singer’s life. The documentary does not have an official release date yet.
The film will take a look at the journey from being called the “Queen of MySpace” to becoming a successful artist. According to Prime Video, her honest storytelling and sharp personality inspired many female artists today. Mat Whitecross will direct the documentary after previously helming other celebrity films such as Oasis: Supersonic and Coldplay: A Head Full of Dreams.
Allen released her most recent album, West End Girl, in October 2025, and it centered on the end of a difficult relationship. The album came after she parted ways with her former husband, David Harbour.
Harbour recently spoke about the album in an interview with Variety and said he respects Allen’s choice to turn her experiences into art. “It is the privilege of every artist to use their experience to create art,” he said.
