Real Estate Dilemma for Lily Allen as Sale of NYC Home With Ex David Harbour Falls Apart

Lily Allen and David Harbour’s marriage ended a while ago, but pieces of their past keep resurfacing.

The pop artist and Stranger Things star married in 2020, split in 2024, and later finalized their divorce. Not long after, Lily released her scathing album West End Girl, which includes claims of David’s infidelity during their relationship. Now, the attention-drawing Brooklyn home is back in the headlines after a sale fell through.

The sprawling home was originally marketed for $8 million

According to The Sun, Lily’s dealing with another setback after a deal to sell her former New York marital home fell apart. This comes after her and David’s very messy divorce fallout.

The Carroll Gardens brownstone hit the market not long after her album came out last year. It started at $8 million, and by January, a $7 million deal was reportedly in place. That agreement has since fallen through.

The home is now back on the market with estate agents Gambino for $7.3 million.

The late 19th-century property was redesigned for Lily and David by Billy Cotton and architect Ben Bischoff. They created a space that reflected their style while they were still together.

The couple paid $3.3 million for the five-bedroom, four-bathroom home in 2021. They later opened the doors for an Architectural Digest tour in 2023, which quickly picked up traction online and drew millions of views.

A few of the design choices got people talking almost immediately. One bathroom includes a pink fridge and carpeting. A bedroom has no windows and sticks to a pink theme. The living room features back-to-back green sofas that they said worked well for arguments.

Whoever buys the home will get all of those details along with more bold touches. There is botanical wallpaper, a tiger-print TV room, and a backyard with a cold plunge pool and a sauna.

The listing reads, “Nestled on one of the most sought-after blocks in Carroll Gardens, 381 Union Street is an enchanting, 22-foot-wide brownstone reimagined by AD100 designer Billy Cotton and architect Ben Bischoff of MADE.

“This late-19th-century townhouse unfolds across four levels. From its stately facade to its refined interior palette, the home is a layered narrative of traditional English charm, modern Brooklyn sensibilities, and rich Italian influence.”
