Alyssa Farah Griffin isn’t backing down in a heated debate with her The View co-hosts when it comes to Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner. She challenged her co-hosts, especially Sunny Hostin and Whoopi Goldberg, on the ongoing “The View” table debate.
Showing no signs of cooling off, Griffin criticised her co-hosts for initially supporting Platner.
The View panel pushed back after Alyssa Farah Griffin’s Graham Platner remarks
According to The Wrap, Alyssa Farah Griffin clashed with her The View co-hosts on Thursday over Democrats’ continued support for Graham Platner despite ongoing campaign scandals. She called them out over whether voters should blindly back “scandal-plagued” Maine Senate candidates.
“I don’t know that I’m convinced either party puts up the best people. I’m just going to be honest,” Farah Griffin argued. “Like I love you guys, but a lot of you guys defended a guy with the Nazi tattoo who is credibly accused of a number of things,” the ABC host added.
Her heated comment came after the ABC hosts debated how much character matters among political candidates these days.
Sunny Hostin stated she would “hold her nose” and vote for Platner if she lived in Maine, a stance she maintained even after new allegations emerged. While Whoopi Goldberg tried to steer the conversation toward middle ground. She downplayed prior knowledge of the tattoo and maintained that the choice belonged strictly to Maine voters. Co-host Sara Haines largely sided with Griffin’s skepticism.
Griffin has maintained her stance that political affiliation shouldn’t excuse the allegations against Platner. She has also said that lowering the bar because of frustration with the current administration amounts to a “race to the bottom.”
The pushback follows weeks of tension at the table. Co-host Sunny Hostin repeatedly clashed with Griffin over whether Platner still deserves Democratic support despite mounting allegations.
Democrat Graham Platner dropped out of the Maine Senate race earlier this month amid sexual assault allegations from a former partner.
