Royal expert has a message for the palace after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle met with King Charles
Royal expert Rebecca English had a message for Buckingham Palace after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s private meeting with King Charles. The meeting has sparked speculation that the Sussexes want to mend ties with the royal family and allegedly move back to the U.K.
English, who is the Daily Mail’s Royal Editor, discussed this in the latest episode of the publication’s Palace Confidential podcast. “I think the Palace do need to be alive to the fact there is a lot of concern that meeting will be used as a way to inveigle themselves back into this half in and half out role,” the expert said. “Not maybe in the short term, but in the long term. And I think that is something people in the UK and around the world are deeply concerned about.”
English assured that the palace went into the reunion with the “best of intentions.” However, she stated that she cannot say the same for Harry and Meghan. She warned Buckingham Palace, “that’s where they need to watch their back a bit,” hinting that they need to be cautiously optimistic.
Multiple royal experts have hinted at the possibility that the Sussexes are plotting their next moves to return to the U.K. Host JJ Anisiobi and TalkTV’s Mark Dolan addressed the matter on the Daily Express podcast. They revealed that Harry and Meghan are mapping their potential re-entry into the royal family because their American dream allegedly failed to materialize.
Anisiobi believed that the couple “want to reverse Megxit” and want to return to the U.K. Meanwhile, Dolan shared, “They’re both struggling in America for different reasons, and they both need to recalibrate their royal credentials. Meghan needs to be Princess Meghan again.”
