Daily Beast journalist Tom Sykes shared details on his Substack, The Royalist. Sykes claimed to have interacted with George’s peers’ parents, who disclosed some intricate details about his birthday party at Forest Lodge. Quoting one of the mothers, Sykes penned: “I went to the house for a kid’s birthday party, and [Prince William and Princess Kate] were the ones organizing the games.”
These included classic favorites like rounders. The anonymous mother chimed in: “Any of us lot would get an entertainer in and sit in the house drinking rosé.”
Royal editor Emily Andrews spoke to Sykes and also contributed to the piece, revealing what close friends of the Waleses said about them. The close friend asserted that William and Kate have given their three children an incredibly normal upbringing despite their royal status. The friend mentioned how the “Prince has always wanted to give them the normal upbringing that he didn’t have.”
Andrews revealed how William and Kate’s humble approach to hosting parties left fellow school parents “gently amused.” Moreover, George is set to attend his father’s alma mater, Eton College, and will begin his first term this September.
Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield explained to Page Six that George will not have one major luxury that his father enjoyed: lack of social media. Schofield said: “The biggest challenge won’t be academics or making friends. It’ll be balancing Prince George’s privacy with the reality that every classmate has TikTok. William and [his brother] Harry attended before social media transformed adolescence. George won’t have that luxury.”
