Eva Mendes is reportedly considering a return to acting after spending years prioritising her family life. Reports suggest that the Training Day actress is turning to her husband, Ryan Gosling, to slow down his busy schedule and help with family duties as she steps back into acting after a decade.

According to The Blast, speculation about Mendes’ Hollywood comeback has gained momentum. Reports suggest she may have a role in the upcoming 2027 release Star Wars: Starfighter, which stars Gosling.
Talking about it, an insider stated, “She’s leaning on Ryan to pick up the slack at home and slow down his usually packed schedule. Eva needs the free time to meet with filmmakers and studio executives and really see what is out there for her.”
The insider claimed that working on Starfighter reminded Mendes of her passion for acting and inspired her to return to the screen. The individual said, “Eva rediscovered her taste for acting while making ‘Starfighter’ last year. Now she wants to be in more films that her kids and their friends will actually enjoy and talk about.” Mendes has also been rumoured to appear in Fast Forever, the upcoming Fast & Furious sequel currently being developed for 2028.
The actress stepped back from Hollywood for years to focus on family, but she opened the door to a potential Hollywood comeback during a 2022 interview with Variety. She said at the time, “There are more opportunities for Latina actresses now, but when I bowed out 10 years ago. I wasn’t being offered things that weren’t specifically Latina. It is exciting that things are different now, so who knows what I will do in the future.”
As per Yahoo Entertainment, Gosling is happy to be a supportive husband and father while Mendes focuses on her return to the screen. The couple’s romance began while filming The Place Beyond the Pines in 2011, as stated by Elle. She and Gosling tied the knot in November 2022. They are parents to two daughters, Esmeralda, 11, and Amada, 10.
