Expert stresses on King Charles and Prince William’s unity over Prince Harry’s moves

Prince William and King Charles will reportedly have to present a “united front” over Prince Harry’s future moves. The Duke of Sussex finally met with his father on July 10, along with his wife, Meghan Markle. Their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, were also present during the reunion.

Charles reportedly hopes to see his grandchildren again in the future. However, William is said to be wary of his brother’s future visits. Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told the Daily Mail that future meetings between the Sussexes and the King would likely be better organized, particularly regarding accommodation and security.

While William understands his father’s approach, he is reportedly concerned about Harry’s future visits and their potential aftermath. The Prince of Wales believes Harry could “overshadow the valuable work the monarchy is doing in the media.” The expert added, “It would be best if they happened privately with no one knowing and great progress might then be made, though that does not tend to be the Sussexes’ way.”

The royal commentator explained that Charles and William need to remain united when it comes to Harry’s future. Fitzwilliams said, “The most disastrous thing that could happen to the monarchy would be a falling out between King Charles and Prince William, who, together with his family, is its future.” He added that whenever families experience disputes, reconciliation should be encouraged. However, reconciliation often comes at a cost, the expert noted.

According to Fitzwilliams, everyone hopes the family disputes can eventually be resolved. The royal commentator also stressed that it is important for the King and William to have a “joint approach” to how matters concerning Harry should be handled.
