Amy Pascal is reflecting on the advice she offered Tom Holland, and Zendaya before they began dating. The longtime Spider-Man producer revealed that neither actor followed her warning and also shared her thoughts on where the couple’s relationship stands today.
Amy Pascal said she gave Tom Holland and Zendaya the same dating advice she’d offered before
Variety asked Pascal if she thought Holland and Zendaya would eventually marry after she warned them not to date. She answered, “No. I say this to all of them, and no one ever listens to me.” Pascal then smiled and added, “I think they’re pretty happy together,” as per PEOPLE. Her comments came years after she first revealed the advice she gave the actors.
Earlier in 2021, Pascal told The New York Times that she had spoken with Holland and Zendaya individually since they got the roles as Spider-Man. She said, “Don’t go there — just don’t. Try not to.” Pascal also shared that she gave the same warning to Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone before they dated between 2011 and 2015. She added, “It can just complicate things, you know? And they all ignored me.”
The producer also noted that the actors who have played Spider-Man have all dated the actresses who portrayed his lead love interest. Tobey Maguire dated Kirsten Dunst from 2001 to 2002. However, Holland and Zendaya took their relationship a step further and reportedly got married in 2026. The pair first met during a screen test for Spider-Man: Homecoming and officially confirmed their relationship in July 2021.
During an interview for Esquire last month, Holland confirmed the marriage, while talking about fake AI wedding photos from Lake Como, Italy. He reported that his grandmother believed she had missed the wedding when she viewed the photos. When Esquire asked if he had to reassure other relatives, Holland replied, “No, because they were all there.” He later joked during a Wired interview, “No, because she’s married to me.”
