Jared Leto has been accused of sexual misconduct by 10 women in a BBC documentary.
Leto has firmly denied all the allegations, stating that he has never sexually assaulted anyone.
Jared Leto issued a strong denial after the BBC documentary featured women’s accounts
The documentary, titled “Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret,” features 10 women detailing their encounters with Leto between 2002 and 2016. 4 women among them allege conduct that could amount to criminal sexual conduct under US/UK law.
One woman says that she was sexually assaulted by Leto in Las Vegas in 2002. Another accuses the “Suicide Squad” actor of sex with a minor at his home in California.
A third woman alleged that she received lurid phone calls from the actor when she was 16. The phone calls followed their meeting at a Los Angeles modeling agency. A fourth woman accused Leto of making a sexual threat at a Thirty Seconds to Mars concert at London’s O2 Arena in 2013.
In response, Leto said, “I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life. These claims are absolutely and categorically false.”
According to Deadline, stories of sexual allegations against Leto first emerged last year when L.A. DJ Allie Teilz posted about her sexual assault by the actor when she was 17. The post reached widely, with several women commenting on similar experiences they had with Leto. This also led to a report in U.S. media outlet Air Mail last year, where nine women accused Leto of sexually inappropriate behavior.
At the time, Leto’s rep “expressly denied” the women’s accusations, especially Teilz’s, which was said to be “demonstrably false.”
Despite the allegations, Leto continues to work in Hollywood, with upcoming projects including “Masters of the Universe” and “Lunik Heist”.
