Jon Bon Jovi’s youngest son, Romeo Bongiovi, is entering the music business without chasing his father’s level of fame. For the 22-year-old musician, building Lawn and its community matters more than becoming a celebrity.

During the July 29 episode of “The Dory Jackson Interview,” Bongiovi discussed building the Los Angeles rock band Lawn. “I don’t really like the idea of celebrity even,” he said, explaining that focusing too heavily on fame can distract artists from their music and supporters.
Bongiovi said he currently thinks locally rather than aiming for “world domination.” OK! Magazine reported that Lawn developed a close following while its members studied in Miami. Many early supporters began as friends or became friends through the band’s shows.
Those performances often took place at Bongiovi’s home. He recalled turning the living room into a makeshift stage filled with drums, guitars, amplifiers, and microphones. The crowded setting removed social barriers because everyone came together for the music.
Bongiovi’s path became clearer when he toured the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music at 16. He told People that the campus immediately felt like home, although studying theory and composition later humbled him. He graduated in May after meeting future collaborators at the school.
Bongiovi, Daniel Coppola and Cliff Dobson formed Lawn in 2024. The band’s official website says its music draws from post-hardcore, post-rock, shoegaze, and Midwest emo. Lawn released the EP “House Party Hero” in April 2025 and later followed it with “LASO.”
His father praised the early music without claiming a role in its creation. Jon Bon Jovi told The Independent that Romeo keeps him out of the process and has “his own vision.” He said he appreciates his son’s independence amid wider conversations about celebrity children receiving industry advantages.
Romeo’s low-key approach also contrasts with the intense attention surrounding his family. Jon recently celebrated an emotional stage comeback after vocal surgery, although a sinus infection later led him to cut a New York concert short. Romeo, meanwhile, appears focused on growing Lawn one listener and one room at a time.
