Sources of Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice have claimed that the couple was particularly dissatisfied by one of People’s articles about the Sussexes. Reportedly, the article hinged upon “a lot of sadness” from the Sussexes’ recent U.K. visit.
The future King and Queen are convinced that the magazine has simply become a public relations tool for Harry and Meghan. In other words, the magazine has become an outlet for them to share their side of the story.
One insider said, “As far as William and Kate are concerned, People isn’t covering Harry and Meghan anymore—it’s speaking for them,” adding, “Every sympathetic exclusive, every anonymous source, every carefully framed narrative points in the same direction. They see it as Harry and Meghan’s unofficial mouthpiece.”
The royal insider also revealed that Prince William and his wife have completely “written off” the magazine. They never expected “balanced coverage” and are therefore not wasting “time worrying about it.
Rather than worrying about one-sided news, the royal couple is now focused on public work. The insider continued, saying, “William’s view is simple: let Harry and Meghan have the headlines—we’ll focus on the job.” They added, “The palace believe credibility comes from public service, not public relations, and they trust people can tell the difference.”
Prince Harry and Meghan’s recent U.K. visit did not go smoothly. Though the couple managed to meet King Charles, the brothers did not attempt to meet each other.
