Sydney Sweeney, 28, took to Instagram to share details about the Washington wildfires and said that members of her family are affected. She uploaded a Story with the caption, “Spokane has always been home to me. It’s where I grew up, where my family still lives, and where so many of the places and people who shaped me are. The devastating fires have changed countless lives in ways that are hard to put into words.”
She further added that “thousands of families have lost homes, belongings, and places of business, including members of my own family. This devastation is something that our community has never experienced on this scale.”
The actress added that Spokane wildfires have not received the same attention as others. She further tagged a few organizations that she is helping on the ground and urged people to support them. Sweeney wrote, “If you are looking for ways to help, these are four organizations that are on the ground right now helping this community that needs us: @innoviafoundation, @spokanimal, @watchdutyapp, @secondharvest_inw.”

According to USA Today, major wildfires are burning in eastern parts of Washington. More than 10,000 acres have been burned, and about 65,000 people are under evacuation. Hundreds of structures have been destroyed, though fire teams are trying to control the fires; wildfires continue to spread faster.
