Greta Lee Reveals the Taylor Swift Moment She Didn’t See Coming

Greta Lee had something heartfelt to share about Taylor Swift. The actor spoke about drawing inspiration from watching the singer during an interview promoting her new Netflix series.

Greta Lee said watching Taylor Swift direct ‘Opalite’ changed the way she viewed the pop star’s creativity

Greta Lee opened up about the inspiration during an exclusive joint interview with E! News. The actress appeared for the interview alongside The Last House co-star Wagner Moura. As Lee prepares for her directorial debut, she said that watching Taylor Swift left a lasting impression on her.

Lee further added that Swift came up with an idea during The Graham Norton Show, saying, “She just had a light bulb idea for a music video she wanted to do, and you see it happen on the actual show during the interview.”

She continued, “Then she just went ahead and brought all of us to be in her video that she wrote and directed herself.”

Lee said that Swift dancing as an Indie Rock Goddess in her “Opalite” music video inspired her and that she was in awe of the Grammy winner.

She said, “I just have such a tremendous respect for that ability, to put an idea into action and to just do it like that. And as a woman, I have a lot of admiration for her.”

Lee also spoke about how working with Wagner Moura was natural, saying, “We love that with the story, this family’s superpower, the thing that makes them survive, is actually just their love for each other,” she began. “That is something that we wanted to honor in a bigger way. It is challenging to do that. I think it was important to try to capture like a real marriage. It was exciting for us.”

Lee and Moura star in The Last House, which premiered on August 7 on Netflix.
