Kai Trump, granddaughter of Donald Trump, shared in her YouTube vlog that she is getting ready for college, and it looks like her mom, Vanessa Trump, is having a hard time letting her go. The 19-year-old recently revealed that both she and her mother broke down in tears as she prepared to leave home for college.

As reported on RadarOnline, Kai’s college term will start on August 17, where she will also play golf as a recruit. She’s seen in the video spending time at the golf course. While she is excited about starting this new chapter, she admitted that leaving her family and friends has been difficult. Kai said in her vlog, “I’m going to college next week. Insane. Playing college golf there.”
She then opened up about how much she will miss home. “But yeah, it’s crazy how I’m leaving home now and leaving my friends and family. I’m going to miss my mom a lot,” she said.
It seems Vanessa is feeling the same way. Kai recalled that the two recently had an emotional moment after leaving a store. According to the teenager, her mom started crying while they were in the car, which quickly made Kai cry too. “I think my mom is getting very emotional about it too. We were leaving a store the other day, and she just started crying in the car, and I started crying. It’s not good,” Kai said while becoming emotional herself.
The 19-year-old suggested that she could still return home on some weekends, but she knows things will be different once college begins. The emotional goodbye comes as Vanessa continues to deal with her breast cancer diagnosis. She revealed in May that she had been diagnosed with the disease, just days after Kai graduated from high school.
