Oprah Winfrey reportedly shut down the idea of another televised sit-down with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The talk show legend was said to have called a Sussex sequel “out of the question” after their 2021 interview drew global attention. A new insider claimed the couple wanted a fresh chapter around healing and promotion. However, the alleged rejection came as King Charles was said to expect silence after their private family reunion.
Oprah Winfrey reportedly rejects another Prince Harry and Meghan Markle interview, claims insider
According to a HeatWorld report, Oprah Winfrey was linked to a possible second interview. The outlet said the 2021 special drew 49.1 million viewers worldwide. It also noted Oprah attended Harry and Meghan’s May 2018 wedding. An insider told celebrity reporter Rob Shuter’s blog, “Oprah took plenty of criticism.”
The source said the Sussexes were “talking” again because interviews “generate headlines.” They reportedly hoped Oprah might want “a fresh chapter about healing.” The insider added, “She isn’t.”
Meanwhile, another insider said the media mogul had no reason to revisit royal tension. The source claimed, “She has absolutely nothing to gain.” They added that she did not want to step back “into the royal drama.”
The insider said the story had already been told. The source also claimed Oprah did not want to become part of their “publicity strategy.” The report framed that as a clear door shut by a former A-list ally.
However, the timing added another layer. HeatWorld said Harry, Meghan, Archie, and Lilibet visited King Charles at Highgrove on July 10. The palace described it as a “private family occasion.” The outlet reported a condition of “total secrecy, silence and discretion.”
It also claimed Charles had a “zero tolerance policy” on meeting details. Still, the report said Harry felt “buoyed” and “really energised” after the reunion. For Oprah Winfrey, the alleged refusal kept her outside the Sussexes‘ next royal chapter.
