Lauren Boebert’s son, Tyler Boebert, has accepted a plea deal in connection with his child abuse case. In 2025, he was accused of misdemeanor child abuse after an incident in which his toddler son wandered away from his mother’s home in Windsor, Colorado. If the plea agreement is approved, the 21-year-old could face jail time and supervised probation.

Tyler, who became a father at 17, is set to plead guilty to child abuse or negligence without injury. The plea offer came from the Weld County District Attorney’s Office in Colorado. Under the proposed deal, he could face up to 30 days in jail and one year of supervised probation, according to TMZ. Prosecutors are also seeking to have him complete a parenting program.
Lauren came to her son’s defense at the time. She said Tyler had been working to get his life “on track” as both a father and a citizen. Moreover, she described the incident as the result of a miscommunication about monitoring her young grandson. She said he managed to leave the house.
In a separate case, Tyler was recently arrested on charges including alleged child sexual exploitation and multiple other offenses. Authorities allege the charges stem from a 43-second sex tape recorded in 2024, when Tyler was 18, and his former girlfriend was 17.
As reported by People, authorities arrested him in Garfield County on August 9. Prosecutors charged him with child sexual exploitation to induce or entice, sexual exploitation of a child, and possession with intent. They also charged him with sexual exploitation of a child involving video and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He was released on a $10,000 surety bond the same day. He is scheduled to return to court on August 19.
