Marilyn Manson is facing a November 2027 jury trial over Ashley Walters‘ sexual assault lawsuit. A Los Angeles County judge set the trial date on Wednesday. The long-running case has been dismissed and revived several times. Manson’s legal team still expects the case could end before trial.
Ashley Walters’ 2021 sexual assault lawsuit against Marilyn Manson moves closer to a jury trial.
As per Law Commentary reports, Judge Steve Cochran scheduled the trial for November 15, 2027. Walters’ attorney requested the November date during Wednesday’s hearing. Cochran had previously said he could consider expediting the case.
The lawsuit was originally filed by Walters in 2021. She accused Manson, whose legal name is Brian Warner, of sexual assault and abuse. Warner has denied the allegations.
Walters alleged that an assault occurred in May 2010. She claimed it happened at Manson’s West Hollywood home studio. According to her lawsuit, he allegedly pushed her onto a bed and pinned her arms.
She also alleged that he attempted to kiss her before biting her ear. Walters claimed he then forced her hand into his underwear. She later became his assistant after he suggested working together professionally.
During that role, Walters alleged she experienced physical and emotional abuse. Her claims included being whipped and having plates thrown at her. She also alleged that Warner threw her against a wall during drug-fueled incidents.
The lawsuit has faced several challenges over its timing. A judge initially dismissed the case in May 2022. An appellate panel later revived it and allowed Walters to address trauma-related memory suppression.
Cochran dismissed the case again in December 2025. He concluded Walters has not sufficiently demonstrated memory suppression. She later cited California’s AB 250 law, which created a window for certain older sexual assault claims.
Cochran revived the lawsuit in January after Walters invoked AB 250. In June, he rejected Warner’s latest attempt to dismiss or narrow Walters’ amended complaint.
Warner’s attorney, Howard King, argued that the claims did not qualify under AB 250. King said Walters could not establish physical restraint during the alleged assault. Cochran ruled that disputed facts prevented resolving the issue at that stage.
King said he expects a summary judgment motion could resolve the case before trial. For now, however, Walters’ claims remain active.
Walters first publicly discussed her allegations in February 2021. Her accusations came alongside claims from other women, including Evan Rachel Wood. Warner has denied the allegations against him.
