Meghan Trainor has revealed a surprising solution to her 5-year-old son’s separation anxiety. The singer gifted her son a stuffed toy that solved the problem.
Meghan Trainor’s son Riley uses her look-alike doll when she’s away on the road
Trainor had a doll made for her eldest son, Riley, 5, to help him with his separation anxiety. Moreover, the “All About That Bass” singer created the doll that is her look-alike for her son.
“My sweet 5-year-old boy is having separation anxiety,” Trainor said in an Instagram video, adding, “so he’s started using his stuffies, his Smurfette, and was like, ‘This is Mama, this is Mama,’ and I thought, ‘I’ll make a mama, I’ll make a stuffie that looks like Mama.'”
She held up her look-alike doll and said that her son adores it. “The thing is, I did and he loves it. He kisses it, he hugs it,” she said. Riley then ran into the frame and asked what his mom was doing. “Showing off your mama doll,” she replied. “Aw, you love it? You think this looks just like me?” Riley held the doll and cuddled it.
The singer also joked about the doll’s resemblance. “She’s even got my thin hair, do you know what I mean?” she said. “Kinda looks like me, dude!” Trainor’s sweet doll reveal comes as she is also trying to carve out more time for her growing family. Besides Riley, Trainor and Daryl Sabara share son Barry, 3, and daughter Mikey, 6 months.
In an effort to spend more time with her family, the singer decided to cancel her Get in Girl tour “after a lot of reflection and some really tough conversations.” She shared in April that balancing family life with a nationwide tour had become overwhelming.
However, Trainor also assured fans that she would be “back soon” and “can’t wait for you to hear this new record.”
