Nicole Kidman’s Alexander McQueen Lace Dress Is as See-Through as It Gets

Nicole Kidman has spent more than four decades in the spotlight, but she continues to find new ways to command attention, this time donning a see-through lace dress from Alexander McQueen for British Vogue.

From movie premieres and awards shows to glossy fashion editorials, the Oscar-winning actress has become known for embracing unexpected transformations rather than settling into one signature aesthetic.

Nicole Kidman goes completely see-through in Alexander McQueen lace dress for British Vogue

Nicole Kidman’s latest appearance keeps that streak going. She stepped in front of the camera for British Vogue’s September 2026 issue. It was photographed by Venetia Scott and styled by Poppy Kain. The accompanying spread sees her move between dramatically different looks and settings, offering plenty of high-fashion moments along the way.

The feature arrives 43 years into Kidman’s career across film, television and theater. Reflecting on what lies ahead, she told the publication, “I can just go forward with an enormous amount of hope.” While there was no shortage of statement-making fashion in the editorial, one look stood out for its particularly daring construction.

Kidman posed in a pale organza and lace bustier dress by Alexander McQueen. The delicate, semi-sheer design featured a structured bustier top with thin straps, while intricate floral lace extended down the length of the dress. She posed behind an antique wooden chair, allowing the translucent fabric and corset-inspired silhouette to take center stage.

She finished the ensemble with pale green leather pumps by Aquazzura. Her accessories included zirconia earrings by Roxanne Assoulin and a gold-and-diamond chain bracelet from Annoushka.

Elsewhere in the shoot, Kidman switched gears completely. She modeled a fiery red silk-satin Dolce & Gabbana dress, later layering it beneath a dramatic patterned coat. Another image saw her in Chanel wool separates, while she also slipped into a Givenchy faux-fur coat with Khaite velvet trousers.

The vast wardrobe made for an editorial packed with transformations, but Kidman’s sheer McQueen moment was easily the most striking one.
