Speaking to TMZ Live, Tyga insisted that the album was not, in fact, AI-generated. “I only used A.I. for some synths and guitar solos,” he said. The rapper also clarified that he had written and recorded all songs himself.
He also dismissed Pitchfork’s rating, saying, “I don’t really know what Pitchfork is. All I know is the devil uses a pitchfork.” The conversation intensified after Doja Cat posted online, “Tyga is a penis for making an A.I. album.”
Reacting to Doja Cat’s remark, Tyga appeared to take a humorous and diplomatic approach. He said, “Listen, I love Doja, but she made a demonic album. But I still love her.”
The exchange comes at a time when AI use in music is a major topic involving songwriting, production, and vocal creation. Artists like Grimes and Timbaland have openly discussed exploring AI tools. However, concerns about technology replacing human creativity have continued to grow across the industry. The Recording Academy has clarified that only music with human writing will be considered for the Grammys.
Tyga has called $TARFACE an experimental album. He also said that his 15-year track record of producing authentic music demonstrates that he can create music without relying on a machine.
