Never one to back down from throwing shade at his opponents, Donald Trump has called out Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) for distancing herself from a political stance she made a few years ago. While discussing the US representative’s intentions behind this reversal, Trump admitted that he does see AOC as a candidate for the 2028 presidential elections, before sharing a warning in case such a proposition comes to fruition.
Donald Trump predicts Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez will run in 2028 and attacks her political repositioning
During a recent interview with Fox News‘ Alexis McAdams, Donald Trump opened up about AOC’s recent decision to step away from several woke ideologies she advertised sometime ago.
When asked if the 36-year-old was doing so to boost her chances for the 2028 presidential election, the POTUS noted, “I think so.” He further explained, “But if you really look at it, they’re all saying the same thing. They’re all trying to disavow themselves from saying about crime and all, we love sanctuary cities. All of the things that they said they’re now trying to disavow.”
McAdams then asked Donald Trump about his strategy to “remind people” about AOC’s decision to renounce some of her previous doctrines, prompting him to say, “They’re going to be reminded anyway, and you don’t have to remember too much. You know, you’re talking about elections that if you win by 10%, it’s supposed to be a landslide, right? So you don’t have to remember too much.”
He then warned the audience about the aftermath of a Democratic win, stating, “People know the woke. I mean, they know the woke. And the woke will become woke again, as soon as they get elected.”
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently explained the progression of her thought process since the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic, stating, “The doors were really open in trying to entertain any and every policy that was going to get us to a better place. I actually think the discussions that we had in that time were quite fruitful,” as per a clip shared by Aaron Rupar.
AOC further added, “I think that, you know, during lockdown, of course, rhetoric in that time is not rhetoric that we would use today.”
