Welcome back, Below Deck Mediterranean fans! Last week, Max returned as a deckhand, and Joe finally earned his acting bosun wings. Elsewhere, Cooper publicly ended things with Kat, only to restart a secret fling with her instead, while Gen made many, many baseless digs at Kayley. And now, here’s what happened on Below Deck Mediterranean Season 11 Episode 11.
What happened in Below Deck Mediterranean Season 11 Episode 11?
Joe proves himself as the acting bosun after an emergency literally rocks the yacht to a new spot. In the galley, Joy has to dig in deep to endure her most challenging charter guests yet. As for Nathan, he checks in from offshore, making Max an offer that threatens to upend everything moving forward.
Kat and Cooper’s “secret relationship” backfires

After Season 10, Max furthered his yachting education and career. But he was happy to rush back and help Captain Sandy. Everyone is happy about that. And Max is happy to see and meet everyone, too, cheering “Oh, another one?!” as Kat, the final crew member to introduce herself, pops into the frame.
Kat thinks her “secret relationship” with Cooper “could work.” In his interview, production makes fun of him, saying he has no idea Kat already spilled the beans to them about their plan in her interviews. When they ask him about her, Cooper blushes, but stays mum. It’s all cringe.
The new guests coming on board are all picky. But Joy had a nice break after the last guests left. And her catch-up with Luke made her happy, too. So, everything will be fine, she says, which probably means the opposite is about to happen.
Outside, the opposite of Kat’s plan is already happening. Gen is flirting with Cooper. He’s single now, Gen says, forgetting the whole girl code part of this equation.
Max “felt betrayed” by Nathan last season, since Nathan made Joe his lead deckhand, not him. This season, Max is not “expecting anything.” But if the lead deckhand position can be his now, he’ll “take it.” Too bad Nathan already gave that title to Joe in Episode 4.
Meanwhile, Gen will take a redo. “I should’ve just gone for Cooper in the beginning,” she says to a shocked Kat. Gen laughs it off, but Kat still texts Cooper with a quick heads-up.
The new guests board, and the yacht smoothly gets underway. Captain Sandy praises Joe for his leadership here.
Joe’s quick thinking earns Captain Sandy’s praise

Joy calls a menu meeting with the guests. Everyone throws multiple comments out. This might be a long charter.
Captain Sandy and Aesha catch up. Aesha could have been a bosun, she admits. But not now, since she has a ring on her finger to protect. They start talking about bachelorette showers, because Aesha has “always wanted” one.
Captain Sandy smiles. We already know why. Aesha will soon get her wish, as seen in the midseason trailer.
Team “Joesun” gets the water toys out in record time, which Captain Sandy applauds. But a couple of the guests are starving. They send Gen to ask Joy for some cheeseburgers and shrimp.
Joy tries to talk them into gluten-free cookies instead, since she just made a batch. They still want shrimp, though. So, Joy delivers, even though this will cut into her dinner prep time. Elsewhere, Nathan calls Joe from offshore, but Joe does not answer.
All of a sudden, the wind kicks up. The anchor starts dragging, bringing the yacht closer and closer to the shore. Captain Sandy gives the deck team 30 minutes to pull the water toys back in so she can move the yacht before it gets stuck. The deck team has never done this in less than 45 minutes before, so the pressure’s on.
Joe makes a solid plan. They will detach and anchor all the toys in the sea, since there is no time to deflate and lift everything back on board. Joe and Aesha remain on the yacht, and Cooper and Max stay with the skis and inflatables. Captain Sandy moves the yacht, and shortly thereafter, Cooper and Max show up to the new spot, towing all the toys. Once again, Captain Sandy praises Joe.
Nathan offers Max the lead deckhand spot, with one condition

Norma from yacht services finally found a deckhand to relieve Aesha. But for now, it’s dinnertime. Some of the guests like the first course; others don’t. Also, the twins want more shrimp.
Joy “could explode soon.” Kayley does her best to redirect them, but she also makes a mistake with one of their asks. So does Joy. They both cry once the guests head to bed.
In her cabin, Joy texts Luke. He comforts her in return. Thankfully, breakfast goes much better. But when Joy suggests pizza for dinner, each guest makes a different request, leaving Joy with eight different dishes to make later.
Cooper, Max, and Kayley head off in a tender with the guests on an excursion, but it starts making noises and smoking. They make it to the shore, where Cooper calls Joe. Joe tells him how to fix things, and all is well.
Later, Max gets a text from Nathan. “Have my back [against Joe], and I’ll for sure make you the lead deckhand. Swear.” Max doesn’t want to betray Joe, but this is his career we’re talking about, he explains, cursing about this unfortunate (and unprofessional) situation Nathan put him in.
Below Deck Mediterranean continues Mondays at 8/7c on Bravo. It streams on Peacock.
