Prince Harry and Prince William have allegedly broken a lifelong promise they made to honor their late mother, Princess Diana. According to royal author Phil Dampier, the brothers once vowed to keep her memory alive together, regardless of what happened between them.
However, their relationship has grown distant over the years, with the siblings seemingly unable to put their differences aside. Dampier now believes the brothers may have broken that silent promise and could remain estranged even as they approach the 30th anniversary of Diana’s death next year.
Prince Harry and Prince William’s feud led them to break promise about Princess Diana, claims author
Prince Harry and Prince William’s ongoing feud may have resulted in a broken promise they once made about their late mother, Princess Diana. Royal author Phil Dampier, who wrote “Royally Suited: Harry And Meghan,” told the Daily Mail that the brothers appeared to have made a lifelong pledge to always honor Diana together as siblings. However, their deepening rift may have made that promise increasingly difficult to keep.
According to Dampier, King Charles’ sons managed to “put aside their differences” five years ago for the unveiling of Princess Diana’s statue. However, their relationship has allegedly deteriorated significantly since then, with the author claiming the situation is “much more worse now.”
“I think William would find it very hard to meet Harry, even to honor Diana’s memory,” Dampier claimed. He also pointed out that next year will mark the 30th anniversary of Diana’s death. “So that would be an obvious time for them to try and heal their rift and at least be seen together. But I don’t think William’s heart is in it,” he added.
Dampier further claimed that people close to William believe the Prince of Wales now considers Harry part of his “past.” According to the author, William is instead focused on the future, particularly his wife, Kate Middleton, and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down as working royals in 2020 before relocating permanently to California. Their rift with the royal family deepened after the couple spoke publicly about their experiences in the Netflix documentary and during their interview with Oprah Winfrey. Harry later made further claims about his family in his memoir, “Spare,” including criticism of his brother and sister-in-law.
