Kai Trump Calls Mom Vanessa’s Cancer Battle a ‘Blessing in Disguise’

While every action by President Donald Trump becomes global news, his ex-wife, Vanessa Trump, has recently been in the headlines following her cancer diagnosis. It is undoubtedly a difficult time for the family, and her daughter Kai Trump has also reacted to the news. However, according to her daughter, this cancer battle is a blessing.

Kai Trump reveals how Vanessa Trump’s breast cancer battle changed their summer together

The 19-year-old University of Miami student recently spoke to Fox News, revealing how her mother Vanessa Trump’s cancer diagnosis altered her summer plans but also gave her an unexpected opportunity to spend considerably more time with her.

Kai Trump said, “I was able to spend extra time with her that I would normally probably spend on the golf course.”

“It was nice to spend those extra hours with her throughout the day before going to college,” she added. She described that extra time together as a “blessing in disguise.”

Although Kai Trump has taken a positive approach to the situation, she also recalled during the interview how she and her mom used to cry together in the car after doctors diagnosed her with cancer.

“We would just be driving, and then we’d just start crying together,” competitive golfer said

In the interview, Kai also gave an update on her mother Vanessa’s health, revealing that after her surgery in June, she has now advanced to the second stage of her treatment plan, which includes radiation. Amid all this, Kai Trump said her mother certainly feels fatigued and unwell, but she called her mother a fighter and added that the younger Trump said she is doing a lot better.

As for Vanessa Trump’s cancer, she was diagnosed with the disease in May 2026, and the US president’s wife revealed the news on the 20th of the same month. The 48-year-old wife of Donald Trump is fighting the illness while undergoing treatment with her medical team.
