Tom Felton had one major complaint about adult Draco Malfoy: the wizard deserved a better glow-up. Fifteen years after Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 2, Felton finally got another chance to play Draco.
The actor, now 38, revisited the famous epilogue while reprising the role on Broadway. This time, he joked that his 2026 appearance looked considerably kinder than Draco’s original future self.

In a video shared by the official Harry Potter Instagram account, Felton recalled preparing for the film’s 19-year time jump. The cast studied family photographs before creating their older appearances. “That meant photographs of my brothers — I have three older ones — my dad, their hairlines, their facial complexion,” Felton explained. Designers used those references to create Draco’s older look.
Felton joked that Draco’s makeover “seemed rather unfair compared to Harry and Ron’s.” Thankfully, Broadway gave him another opportunity to settle the score.
The actor said he finally “get[s] to put that right” with his return in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. He also admitted his current appearance felt “somewhat more flattering than what they did” in the 2011 film.
The original epilogue remained a memorable experience for Felton. He called filming it “an awesome day,” despite knowing the franchise was ending. The cast shot the sequence at King’s Cross station rather than on a studio set. Felton remembered thinking it would be his final day as a wizard.
“It’s even cooler that I genuinely thought that was the last day that I was gonna ever, ever be a wizard,” he said. Yet the wizarding world eventually called him back. “And here I am. Harry Potter and I are sharing a dressing room here on Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on Broadway,” Felton added.
His Broadway run has now been extended through Jan. 3, 2027. The Tony-winning play picks up 19 years later, with Draco raising his son, Scorpius. During one performance, Felton nearly became emotional when longtime franchise star Warwick Davis watched. “Tbh I nearly cried on stage saying ‘Wingardium Leviosa’ knowing he was watching,” he wrote on Instagram.
For Felton, the Broadway return offered more than nostalgia. It also delivered a long-overdue Draco Malfoy fashion correction.
