According to Harrold, she would have done everything in her power to resolve the issue. Princess Diana’s former butler Grant Harrold confessed that she would have hated to see the rift between Prince William and Prince Harry. Harrold appeared on GB News Breakfast and discussed the late princess’ views on the ongoing cold war between her children (via Radar Online).
Harrold explained empathetically: “I mean, she’s a mother, and I’m sure … she would see both sides of the story from both the boys.” According to the former royal butler, Diana would have listened to both their woes but would have ultimately asked the princes to bury the hatchet.
Harrold elucidated further: “The one thing she would hate is this fallout. The fact that, as we are aware, they’re not speaking. The fact that this has never been on for, you know, several years. That would upset her. And I have no doubt if she were here, she would be doing everything in her power to try to heal the rift.”
Furthermore, the former royal butler revealed that Diana perhaps wouldn’t have brought Harry back into the royal household, given her own turbulent history with the royals. However, as per Harrold, she would have certainly encouraged the brothers to resolve their issues and speak with one another.
As per multiple reports, the Sussexes flew privately from California to Birmingham on August 26. They are reportedly residing in a non-royal home in the Cotswolds while retaining their home in Montecito and Portugal.
As per PEOPLE, King Charles was “made aware” of the couple’s plans to move back to Britain on August 16 and has welcomed the idea of meeting his son and grandchildren in a private capacity. There will reportedly be no change in Harry and Meghan’s status as non-working members of the royal family.
