“And I’m not affected by the election,” Trump said. “No. 1, I’m not running. But my party’s running, and I’m going to help my party. But I think my party respects the fact that we’re not allowing Iran to have a nuclear weapon.” However, the remarks come as Republicans struggle to maintain control of both chambers of Congress.
High gasoline prices linked to instability from the Iran war have become one of the biggest political liabilities. Recent polls have consistently counted low approval ratings for the Iran war and how it’s being handled, which could spell trouble for GOP candidates in tight races.
