Jake Paul and Tommy Fury’s rivalry has started again, just as Paul prepares for one of the biggest challenges of his career. With Paul finalizing his December bout against Olympic gold medalist and former two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, the YouTuber-turned-boxer used the moment to take fresh aim at Fury, and the response came quickly.
Jake Paul calls out Tommy Fury for refusing fight offer
Jake Paul has been dominating boxing conversations over the past week after news broke that he was finalizing a fight with Anthony Joshua for a December 19 Netflix card in Miami, Florida. The match became official on November 17, being Paul’s most ambitious test yet.
Still, for Paul, one unresolved thing that continues to nag at him is his lone professional loss to Tommy Fury in February 2023. Since then, Paul has repeatedly pushed for a rematch, but no agreement has ever materialized.
Paul reignited the rivalry on X with a direct, although unnamed, jab at Tommy Fury. He wrote, “Respect due to all the fighters that said yes. We had to put all options on the table and make a decision. Guess who didn’t say yes even for $15M. B***h made you and your father are, who controls everything you do. You are not a man. You are a boy. Daddy’s little boy.”
Though he didn’t mention Fury outright, fans immediately recognized who the message targeted. And Fury seemed to agree because his reply came within hours. Fury fired back, writing, “Offering me the fight in America… a place you know I can’t get to right now. Convenient. Offer me the same $15M anywhere else in the world and I’ll be there in 8 weeks to shut you the f**k up and repeat what I did the first time. And ‘daddy’s little boy’? If anyone’s a son here it’s you… I gave you your first L.” Fury even tagged Paul’s official X account in his reply post.
Now, whether a rematch ever happens or not remains one of boxing’s unanswered questions.
