Darren Watkins, better known as IShowSpeed, is celebrating another major milestone in his career. The star recently took home the 2025 Esports Awards for Streamer of the Year. The event took place on November 19 at the HyperX Arena in Las Vegas.
Needless to say, the achievement has sparked a wave of reactions online, with many fans flooding social media to congratulate the streaming icon. One fan even compared Speed to soccer legend Lionel Messi. “Messi of streaming world,” they wrote, followed by a crown and a goat emoji.
The Esports Awards delivered several other memorable moments throughout the night, honoring a stellar list of winners across multiple categories. The Esports Game of the Year award went to League of Legends, while PUBG Mobile received the Mobile Game of the Year award.
Other notable personalities who bagged the statuette include Choi “Doran” Hyeon-joon, Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut, Mason “Mercules” Ramsey, and many more (via Esports).
With Speed’s latest Esports Awards, fans are now waiting on the 2025 Streamer Awards, where the streamer has received three nominations. Speed is up for winning three categories this year, namely, Streamer of the Year, Best IRL Streamer, and Best Marathon Stream – “Speed Does America.”
The highly anticipated award ceremony is scheduled to take place on December 6, 2025, at the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles, California. Twitch streamer QTCinderella, who previously announced the nominees, is all set to host the event.
Last year, Speed won three The Streamer Awards, including the highly coveted Streamer of the Year title. He also took home the awards for Best International Streamer and Get Off Your A** Award (Best IRL Streamer). Fans are waiting to see whether Speed can continue his winning streak this December.
