Eagle-eyed fans recently spotted Andy Reid’s picture in Travis Kelce’s background in the New Heights podcast, sparking a massive discussion. Following the decline in performance of the Kansas City Chiefs, many critics are blaming head coach Andy Reid, further suggesting his retirement. Recently, the team was defeated by the Broncos, hurting their AFC standings.
Coach Andy Reid spotted in Travis Kelce’s podcast
Travis and Jason Kelce recently sat down for their 165th episode of the New Heights podcast, where they discussed “Franchise Records, Sanders NFL Debut, Taco Domination, and We’re Going ‘Belly Bucking.'” During their conversation, what particularly caught fans’ eyes was Kelce’s background. On the shelf behind him, a framed photo of the Chiefs teammates giving a Gatorade bath to Reid was seen.
After spotting Reid in that frame, fans quickly took to social media to share their thoughts on current calls on Reid’s retirement. One fan wrote, “One of the greatest coaches of all time. I do question his ability to adapt to the changes the league is throwing at him these days, but talking about getting rid of him when the chiefs are 5-5 and still in playoff contention is crazy.”
A second one mentioned, “Coach Ried is the greatest coach ever. He has taken the Chiefs to the playoffs TEN YEARS IN A ROW!!! Forget those fair weather fans! They aren’t true fans!!!”
Some fans also commented on the strategic placement of the photo frame, suggesting that it’s Kelce’s way of showing his support for Reid amid mounting pressure of retirement.
A fan wrote, “Not surprising. Trav isn’t just a supportive lover-boy of Tay but shows up that way for all his people. Big heart.” Another one mentioned, “Probably because a lot of fans are calling for him to be fired and Travs letting us know he doesn’t want Reid to go anywhere. He’s got them three Super Bowl wins.” One fan also noted that the photo frame was kept recently, as they haven’t spotted it in other podcast episodes.
